JPO Reaches Agreement with IPOS

On August 25, 2015, the Japan Patent Office had talks with the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore and reached an agreement to start an Examination Capability Enhancement Program in collaboration with the Private Sector between the two offices. Through this program, the JPO and PCT users will cooperate in contributing to enhance the examination capability of the IPOS as an International Searching Authority and International Preliminary Examining Authority. The program will not only promote the improvement of the environment for intellectual property protection in Singapore but also contribute to the promotion of smooth international business development in the ASEAN region.
