Mexico and China's Hong Kong signed a memorandum of understanding on Thursday, creating the basis for a bilateral strategic partnership to protect intellectual property rights (IPR).
Protection of IPR is important for companies of both sides, said Miguel Angel Margain, director-general of the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property.
Hong Kong Trade Development Council head Margaret Fong said the memorandum would be a fundamental instrument to promote cooperation between Mexico and Hong Kong, protect and promote the trade of intangible goods, and foster business between them.
