Chinese vendor faces prosecution for selling fakes

A Chinese vendor is facing prosecution over selling bags with faked international brands to tenants of Beijing's "Silk Street" market since May 2007, the Beijing Daily reported Saturday.
Police seized in vendor Yang Changjun's warehouse more than 8,000 bags faking famous brands such as Louis Vuitton and Chanel, which were worth nearly 770,000 yuan ($113,000), according to the report.
Prosecutors believed Yang should be claimed criminal responsibilities over selling large amounts of products with faked trademarks.
The case had been accepted by the court of Beijing's Chaoyang District, where "Silk Street" is, the report said.
