China to carry out national IP strategy in 2008

The State Council published the "Priorities of State Council's Work in 2008" (hereinafter referred to as "Priorities"), deploying all sort of works conducted in 2008.

"Priorities" propose to implement national intellectual property strategy, promote the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure and the construction of national innovation system, and encourage the export of products with independent intellectual property rights and independent brands.

"Priorities" also point out, China should further strengthen the construction of patent laws and regulations system, deeply develop IP macro-management, promote IPR informatilization, upgrade the comprehensive ability of patent review, as well as boost the establishment of IPR talent group, and further promote international cooperation and exchange on IP field.

Meanwhile, promoting the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure is written into the "Priorities". And China will conscientiously implement the National Outline for Medium and Long-term S&T Development Planning, and accelerate the transformation of foreign trade development.
