Yiwu sends IPR investigation team to America

To let developed countries like America know more about the endeavors made by Yiwu authority on IPR protection, Yiwu lately sent an investigation team to America to publicize and exchange views about IPR protection work.

It is reported that to increase the protection of intellectual property rights, Yiwu established a special leading group for IPR protection work, forming a coordination mechanism for different governmental departments and providing a strong platform for handling intellectual property cases with high efficiency.

After hearing Yiwu's report on the achievements of IPR protection, officials from the U.S. Department of Commerce said this conversation enables them to have a new understanding of China's IPR work.

Standing Deputy Leader of Yiwu's leading group and Vice Mayor of Yiwu city Wu Senmin introduced, Yiwu has attached great importance to IPR protection. In all cases investigated last year, 45 people were put into prison because of infringement of intellectual property rights.

At present, Yiwu owns 18,143 registered trademarks, 70 Chinese Well-known Trademarks, 7 China's Top Brands and 37 Zhejiang famous brands. And the overall strength of trademark development ranks second in China's county-level cities. [Chinese version is available on jhnews.com.cn]
