Shanghai to set up IPR arbitration court

At the press conference held by Shanghai Municipal People’s Government yesterday, Chen Zhixing, Director of Shanghai Intellectual Property Office expressed that Shanghai IPR Arbitration Court co-established by Shanghai IP Office and Arbitration Committee is possible to be unveiled in the middle of October.

The judgment system of the IPR Arbitration Court is that arbitration award should be final and binding on both parties, which is conducive to shortening the time for case handling. And it will establish an effective IPR maintenance non-lawsuit system.

Besides local arbitrators, Chen Zhixing hoped more excellent arbitrators of other provinces and countries could join in the IPR Arbitration. [Chinese version is available on xinmin.cn]
